Max, Penn, Bryan, and Jacques from NC cell have successfully terminated the program running the Zhar Lloigor algorithm and returned causality to its normal state. Mueller was not so lucky.
Oh? How did it go? I must confess that I was terribly impressed by that game when Ed sent it along…brilliant, really.
It went fairly well. One character almost died when they fought their doppelgangers, so that was nice. For some reason the players kept unanimously deciding to break into all the locations at night instead of talking to the people inside. They were very paranoid. xD
I wholeheartedly endorse this game. :)
Heh, probably the worst part was having to constantly split the party. That was a really clever and nasty mechanic, requiring us to do two things simultaneously.
Oh, I wanted to mention that one thing I really appreciated was the way in which the party separating happened. Usually I hate splitting up gamers because it sometimes requires me to leave the room and ignore half the playing group (laaame) while I GM for the others. In this case, though, I was able to stay in the same room as both (as they were completing similar tasks with similar obstacles). I could even Gm both fights simultaneously, which was great. :D
Glad to hear it went well; I set out to design a game which would force players to violate some of the tenants of good play. I also wanted to throw up some amusing complications from High Roller tendencies, like having the briefing happen late at night with a game time-limit to encourage the players to do everything the hard way instead of getting some sleep and working during business hours.
And the doppelganger fight especially relies on having both groups' players in the room at the same time. Getting that instant feedback actually makes it tougher to figure out exactly what's going on.
