Lot of talk about this lately, & some interesting side effects/questions:
Who is involved?
How does it apply to my Novice?
When will it go down?
What about the new system?
Help! What if I'm not ready?!?
Let's go over this.

Let's go over this.
Characters dedicated to the Endgame will be in it to the death. There will be no outs, & they will be subject to a level of danger previously unknown, including "loose ends" or assassinations outside of Games.
You may dedicate any number to the Endgame, but I recommend no more than 2. Others you have should be declared at least "Semi-Retired."
Meaning, they still are extent but are generally not active.
Endgame characters will gain a few advantages I will discuss shortly, much like Vets.
The Alabama cell will be bringing all our characters. Most of us are focusing on our top two characters, with the others considered semi-retired (generally not active but occasionally involved).
I will be bringing Stefan De'Vries & Jake Brody…
Rajhad, Tonio & Levi may be considered semi-retired.
Eliott Bratovitch, already having become a Harbinger, will be active on that scale as well.
Since all my Endgame characters are also Vets, I am requesting Vet Solos where available, contact me if you have the time.
I'll be bringing Raslow. X is largely retired.
Ghoto is sidelined as well, but I'll take nominations as to whom might be a worthy bearer of the Cherry Blossom Sword, and perhaps be involved through them.
Well, if Nic ever met the Cherry blossom sword, he would be in love with it. So I will selflessly nominate my own character whom would have almost no way of knowing of the swords existence.
Oh, and if that didn't make it clear enough, Nic will be involved in the debauchery. His curiosity may get the better of him, but you know how the saying goes: "gotta crack a few cats to make a cat shake"
Actually, that moment is probably only 1 or 2 sidegames away.
I'll be bringing Dr. Freeman to the games, I think.
I'll also have Carson drop in, but I don't really expect or want him to take a major role since he's mostly retired. Still, I love his kit…
…is a long way off.
I really want to cut much more from it; as it stands, I see it bogged down with people splitting hairs over modifiers.
As for new characters who want to play in the new setting, go right ahead. We can always fix mechanics later. Your actions, as Ackroyd wonderfully spelled out for us, will exist in realities now separate from the current setting.
It's already begun. We have reached the point where the 1000 selected will be culled. The remaining will be Vets, will be Corpses, or will be Harbingers.
As for how LONG it will take…quite a while. You will have plenty of time to act or react to all events. With multiple GM's & nearly 20 years of plotline, expect a long encounter.
Yes, I know…so many powers, so little XP, eh?
Beyond the options offered (Quiz, Soundtrack, Journals, Write Ups) we still starve for points…
Endgame characters (only) will have the following options:
-Spend a Gift to improve an existing Power (usually specific level gets a boost, subject to GM's discretion)
-Write up Side Game Journals to gain 1xp
-Spend a Gift to raise an existing Power by 1 level
You'll need these advantages, I don't doubt. The finale will be brutal.
On the table:
Running Critical Side Games/Conflicts: 10 xp
Increasing the normal journal bonus by +1 each.
A question regarding using Gifts to upgrade a Power: how substantial of an upgrade are we looking at? Should an upgraded Power be twice as powerful as it would otherwise be, or should it be only somewhat more potent? How might something like Soldier get upgraded, as compared to a linear Power like Telekinesis?
It will be a case by case basis, subject to approval by admin. It will not be any sort of "doubling" or dice/difficuly change, it will primarily involve expanding the scope of an existing power to cover related elements that are not currently included.
Telekinesis could make a good argument to gain a +1 Strength buff per Gift invested (Physical Psions only). Soldier doesn't have any levels that really need an expanded scope, & so it would be inapplicable.
A good example might be the Iatrosis power "New Prometheous" which allows animation & control of freshly dead corpses. The principle inherent could be argued to have wider application. A Gift spent could grant that application if approved.
On the table:
Running Critical Side Games/Conflicts: 10 xp
Sounds like a good idea.
Increasing the normal journal bonus by +1 each.
My suggestion would be to require a little extra, since this would allow 5 XP per Game from journals. Perhaps standard XP for half a page, +1 for a full page.
You should move these characters to the New Setting. For those who moved, it is as if waking to a new world without leaving your room. Those Involved are gone as if they never were. Likewise, those who escape in this fashion are totally gone in an instant, no doubt victims in the eyes of those last who remain…
